The centre is the ideal place to bring your 0-8 year olds to play, have fun and make new friends. We have purposely capped our age limit to 8 years old to help reduce the all too familiar scene of older kids riding rough shot over the younger ones. Can you perform the story? Think of prices for each toy that Lily receives. Set up your own toy shop and work out the total prices for people who buy more than one item. Blue Kangaroo has trouble sleeping at night because he is upset. Find out why we need sleep and think of ways that we can help ourselves to sleep. Think of words to describe your favourite toy. What does it look like? Where did it come from? How does it make you feel? Before beginning the story, talk together about the title and the cover. Is there anything unusual about a blue kangaroo? Read the story aloud, stopping to talk about the pictures, what’s happening in the story and how Blue kangaroo might be feeling. Join in Find out about toys from the past.
