Models – Possibly the most Important factor from a practicality standpoint: do you want to spend your time and money on these models? Will you actually want to sit down and complete them, or are you just getting them because some dorks on the internet said they were good? This is something that often stops me from taking the most “optimised” lists because, no, I do not want to sit and paint the same unit 20 times over. The one issue I did have with building this guy was getting the gap to line up on the left side of his cloak, shown below. I’m not alone in this either: Rob had exactly the same issue. I was surprised by these sprues. After the Indomitus release where everything fitted together so easily and appropriately snug, I came into this expecting to blitz through building some of the highest detailed plastic models ever produced.

Kruleboyz are also far less uniform in appearance than what we’ve seen of other orruks, giving the army a motley appearance befitting their unsavoury reputation. Every single model is full of characterful details that will delight painters and collectors, and their methods of war introduce a new tactical dimension to Destruction armies. Hobgrots Again though, really detailed models. Creatively thought out on the sprue and the sculptor should be proud. This one is more or less just about the tiny plastic people (every single one of whom, we should say, were kindly provided to us by GW, free of charge, for review).

Again, expect to see this in the mid- and top-tier starter sets when they come out. Warhammer Age of Sigmar Dominion – Sprue H – Hobgrot Slittaz Next up I did a basecoat of Ultramarines Blue Contrast Paint to lay down the base color. Swiftblade recommended I use Macragge Blue but I didn’t have any of that sitting around and this is basically the same shade. As Dominion itself is a limited release, I highly expect to see this sprue in all of the upcoming AoS 3.0 Starter Edition Boxed Sets. Whatever they be named (I doubt that Recruit, Elite and Command will be reused). Warhammer Age of Sigmar Dominion – Sprue B – Vindictors The only optional build on this sprue is model J (parts 1-9) which can be built as either a Gutrippa or Gutrippa Boss Keep an eye out for more news on both the Stormcast Eternals and Kruleboyz. Both armies are ready to be used on their own straight out of Dominion or mixed into your existing collections, but these models are just the tip of the iceberg. Leap Into The Era of the Beast

Dominion Miniatures

Whatever the reason, Dominion is an unmissable boxed set for miniature painters. There are some of the best models ever sculpted available at some of the lowest possible prices. We don’t know what will come next but following the precedent set by Indomitus, we can hazard a guess that you’ll see various starter sets with a selection, but probably not all, of the models above. Killaboss on Great Gnashtoof: Particularly storied Killabosses can procure all manner of terrifying, swamp-dwelling mounts from the Beast-breakaz to show off their status. The model comes supplied with a Citadel 105mm Oval Base. Theme – Do you want your army to follow a particular theme? You can lean into a particular playstyle, such as going all-out on Boltboyz and Killbows or outnumber your enemy with multiple units of Hobgrots and Gutrippaz. While you should never let this hamper your army’s ability to get things done it can be beneficial to have one thing you do really well and just really lean into it.

I fall into a smaller subset of Games Workshop fans, one that doesn’t care about the lore, or the factions, or the game. I’m one who likes cool looking models. And here, that’s exactly what has been delivered I think, expect one (not two) of these sprues to come in the AoS 3.0 Starter sets that follow Dominion. Warhammer Age of Sigmar Dominion – Sprue C – Knight-Arcanum This pair of reversible fold-out gaming boards have swamplands on one side and an arid wasteland on the other – all the better to show your games take place in Ghur, the Realm of Beasts. This board is designed with the new recommended sizes of matched play in mind – combine multiples together to create a battlefield of the perfect size for your game. Simply put, this is the biggest and best Warhammer Age of Sigmar boxed set that we’ve ever made. With two sizable armies – including all-new units and even a never-before-seen subfaction of the Orruk Warclans – a copy of the updated Warhammer Age of Sigmar Core Book with exclusive full-art cover, and more besides, it’s a truly epic set. Vindictors: Dauntless warriors of the Redeemer conclaves, the Vindictors are the shieldwall upon which the forces of ruin shatter. These models come supplied with 10x Citadel 40mm Round Bases.Kruleboyz have only a few other units to choose from to add more punch to the army or to buff the rest of your units. As with the above sprue, this is straightforward with only a single minor variant in all the models: an optional head choice. But I’m only giving it 3 stars because Rob threatened to quit writing here if I didn’t give it 5 (I am giving it 5 really, just don’t tell Rob, I want to see what he does). We use DHL for our main courier. The delivery guide for this is next working day to 2 working days. The longer period is for areas such as the Highlands and Islands of the UK. Dominion is full to bursting with glorious Warhammer goodness – two full armies, each with several units, a powerful Leader, and ample support.
