Ringo purchases an unusual ring which marks him as the sacrificial victim of an obscure Eastern cult. Overplay and familiarity had dulled it's beauty in my memory but this remaster brings back the lustre for me. My luck being rather poor, we experienced a massive hail storm midway through Let It Be and they had to stop the film for a while. Victor Spinetti is brilliant as Foot, along with Roy Kinnear as his assistant Algernon, who plan to take the sacrificial ring for themselves. The old DVD – and all prior home video releases of the film, as far as I know – used a fullframe presentation, whereas this one gives us a widescreen ratio. Some like the fullscreen edition and think it represents the director’s intentions, while others feel the same way about the widescreen ratio. Back then, I was just so darned happy to see the films that it wouldn't have mattered if they were any good; that ain't the case now. We also get to see the boys in various locations in England, including the Salisbury Plain, as well as in the Austrian Alps and The Bahamas. That's what leads me to think it might be authoring, but it could be a manufacturing defect not visible to the naked eye.Regardless of country of origin all tracks are sung in English, unless otherwise stated in our description.

this is an album that has truly a masterpiece in it"s own right , the vocals are so strong and clear as a bell that you don"t have to put the album on repeat to listen to the lyrics, the sound is superb with no nasty feedback ( this is the 2012 remaster vinyl) and a joy to listen to , all four Beatles have great songs for their fans ( yes even Ringo ! Not a great movie by any means, but contains a few genuinely funny moments and some unintended slices of what life was like back in the 1960s.

Still, it offers some good bits, such as a villain who emulates Odd Job from Goldfinger with a coonskin cap, and even the weakest parts aren't terrible. While I thought the elements other than the music didn’t impress enough to knock my grade up to “A”-level, I still felt happy with this solid remix. Once got an issue from them with the SACD logo right there on the packaging, but only a CD inside; they wouldn't even answer my e-mails.

Perhaps it would have been good to have more songs but the film is a nice reminder of simpler times and it is always a treat to watch the boys in their prime and be reminded of their brilliance. We chose, instead, to do a Pop Art fantasy within which we could play around with the state of Britain in 1965 and Harold Wilson’s white-hot, modern society. For all of its faults, it remains a fun film that gives us a not-so-candid look at a great band in their prime. On a slightly serious note, the upbeat tempo of the title song masks the rather sad message contained in John Lennon's lyrics. Although some reviews stated that only the USA version had these issues and not the UK manufactured ones. We now take for granted the easy availability of movies on home video formats, but in 1980, it wasn't quite so simple. there's too much emphasis on story and supporting characters and not enough footage of the Beatles being "themselves". Of course the whole movie is a vehicle for Beatles music and songs (visually the best scenes of the film) still you can enjoy all the rest, have fun with the crazy touch and mood of the situations and the gags. These kinds of featurettes inevitably tend to become self-congratulatory, and a little of that happens here.
