About this deal

One of the downsides is the trunk, which isn’t really visible as its obscured by all the leaves, but despite the branches from each angle, looks a little too straight and unnatural. In Chinese culture, tangerines are synonymous with luck and there 20 of them in the set although they use the pumpkin pieces. The combination of coins, the tree, the envelopes and the tangerines make this an all-encompassing interpretation of a money tree. Celebrate Chinese New Year with this fascinating and wonderfully detailed Money Tree (40648) adorned with riches and rewards.

My family doesn’t have a set system, though my advice is to start small and focus on tidying a contained area, such as your fridge, and then build on that success. It’s a really interesting technique, if a little unrealistic as Kumquat Trees are usually planted in darker soil, not sand, but in this case, it helps introduce some contrast between the soil and trunk. I see the Money Tree as something he can rebuild more quickly and independently each year so that we can display it on our mantel. Thanks to its smaller surface area, it will fit into smaller spaces too – which can’t be said for the likes of the LEGO Botanical Collection’s entries. At 16cm high, 14cm wide and 16cm deep, the size of this model may take you by surprise, but it’s still small enough to fit into any cracks in your collection, or sit aptly on any minimal surface space you have in mind.I consider this a LEGO Botanical set, joining the likes of 10311 Orchid, and 10309 Succulents, as it’s really a brick-built shrub, with some decorations hanging from it. The set offers no playability, but it does make a lovely display model, particularly when placed between the two . Our iDisplayit display case is the ideal way to exhibit and show off your LEGO Money Tree to friends and family during your Spring Festival celebrations and throughout the year as you welcome good luck, abundance and prosperity for 2023’s Year of the Rabbit. However, despite the nature of this model’s assembly, the final result is sizeable, detailed and suitably colourful. Okay, so looking into what a “yuanbao” is, I now understand that the 2x2 radar dish is meant to approximate a lid that is a common feature of ones shaped like boats.

With so many exposed components, it is vital to preserve your LEGO brick centrepiece with a high-quality storage and display option.

The LEGO® Lunar New Year Money Tree (40648) set is a delightfully detailed model featuring Chinese New Year decorations such as tangerines, red envelopes and coins. It matches the dense leaves of the kumquat tree, thanks to the generous helping of leaves that are layered subtly and closely to one another. These little the leaves, and together with the kumquats, and coins give the Money Tree plenty of visual bookmarks that draw your eyes to all the interesting elements. The eye-catching red planter’s use of curved pieces placed on their side allows for a simple but effective piece of detailing. The set offers no playability, but it does make a lovely display model, particularly when placed between the two parts of 80110 Lunar New Year Display.
