About this deal

The third witness in court was Michael Farmer, who appeared via video link. He told the jury that he had known Mr Walley for ‘a couple of years’ and that he also knew Jones through mutual friends. It was only at that stage that he went to Wrexham police station and told them where they could find the body.

Ms Jones says that, during the call, Jones walked into the kitchen wearing Mr Walley's jumper and that the latter was 'not happy' about it. He then played computer games for a day and a half while her dead body remained at his house, before burying her in a field at Erddig near Wrexham. He was taken to hospital, but later sadly died. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌ Notorious murderer who buried body in concrete coffin found running major drug operation after release from jail

A further two men arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of a 59-year-old man have been released on bail as investigations into the incident continue. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌ By Sunday afternoon, March 22, the police digging was getting perilously close to the actual field which contained the body. He also confirmed that he had seen a clip where Jones told his private Snapchat friends that he wanted to ‘chef up’ someone (slang for putting a knife in someone). He then described seeing a man - now recognised as Jones - making off with a bike from the flats. He also overheard the defendant say: I’ve stabbed someone, he’s dead” and “what am I going to do now?”

He was taken to hospital, but sadly died later. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌ The circumstances surrounding this incident have been the subject of widespread social media speculation, and we are aware that many young people may have been affected by this. As such, School Liaison Officers and the Neighbourhood Policing Team are working closely with colleagues at Wrexham Council to offer the appropriate support and reassurance to the local community.”

The next witness brought into court was Ms Attia Jones, who never met Mr Walley in person but had become friends with him through Snapchat some four or five days before his death. Mr Meadows described Jones’ personality as ‘being all over the place’ and that his behaviour was ‘erratic’. Following the verdict, Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jones said: “I don’t think we will ever know what the motive was. Mr Jones branded Reszpondek determined and cold, and said he had done everything he could to protect himself.

The defendant must have thought that on the Monday morning they were likely to move into the actual field and find the body. Police are investigating the unexpected death of a a 40 year-old-man on a housing estate in north Wales. She also tells of having heard loud screaming' and 'heavy breathing' towards the end of the call. She called out Mr Walley's name but had no response. A spokesperson for North Wales Police said: “In total, five men have been arrested on suspicion of murder, and have all been released on bail. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌ He tells the jury that he did speak with Mr Walley between 2pm and 2.30pm that day and that he sounded like he had been 'drinking heavily'. Mr Walley asked if Mr Bull wanted to come and watch the football with him and Jones at his flat. Overseeing Judge Justice Eyre then called the second witness to the stand - David Davies who was in attendance at court.

Mr Meadows provided some of these clips he had screen-recorded to the police - these were then shown as part of a compilation to the jury on day one of the trial. The investigation centres around the death of a 59-year-old man, named John Ithell, from Pentre Gwyn, Wrexham. ‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‍‌‌‌‌‍‌‌‌ There are a number of possibilities why he killed her but I don’t think it is right that we speculate on that at this time.” The defendant was crying and the officer noticed that the 19-year-old had a "large laceration" on his hand. He was arrested and taken to Wrexham Maelor Hospital for treatment. On Thursday March 19, 2009 after months of surveillance, the police “made a big show of digging in the fields around that area, looking for the body of Ermatati Rodgers, with a lot of press publicity.

The fourth witness called to the stand was Charlotte Upton who was Jones' probation officer and said that she had had 'no issues' with the defendant. Claim LDP ‘not a governance issue’ as councillors ‘exercised their democratic right to have an opinion’ Mr Walley's family earlier paid tribute to the "loving, caring and kind" man, saying that his death has left them "absolutely devastated".
