About this deal

While studying at Oxford, after discovering Éarendel in the lines from Crist, Tolkien developed a constructed language that later became Quenya. As of around 1915, he believed that this language needed an internal history, and was spoken by Elves whom his invented character Eärendil meets in his journeys. The next step in his creation of the underlying mythology was the Lay of Eärendil, a work composed of several poems describing the mariner Eärendil and his voyages, and how his ship is turned into a star. The mysterious land of Valinor and its Two Trees of gold and silver were first described in this cycle. Supplied in a full-colour Lord of The Rings branded gift box, this beautiful light is the perfect present to give any fan of Lord of the Rings or J. R. R. Tolkien’s other fantasy works. Plus, collectors of official Lord of the Rings merchandise will want to have this item in their collection of memorabilia.

In the video game Shining in the Darkness, lumbs of mithril ore can be found and forged into some of the strongest weapons and armor available. From her earliest years she had a marvellous gift of insight into the minds of others, but judged them with mercy and understanding, and she withheld her goodwill from none save only Fëanor. In him she perceived a darkness that she hated and feared, though she did not perceive that the shadow of the same evil had fallen upon the minds of all the Noldor, and upon her own. For the literal-minded reader, it is unclear whether or not mithril is a real metal; many have thought it to be platinum, or iridium however, both are far too heavy to qualify as candidates. It is possible that this legendary material was modeled after titanium, as this metal, while actually quite abundant as ore, was very expensive to produce in its metallic form (especially by medieval technology), and has some of mithril's properties of strength, bright silvery color, corrosion resistance, and light weight. Other possibilities are aluminium, or magnesium; these metals are even lighter than titanium, but not as strong or as silvery and shiny. (Famously, Napoleon III of France once bought dinnerware made out of aluminium because it was more expensive than gold at the time.) Certainly Tolkien, being highly educated, would have had knowledge of these three metals and the difficulty in preparing them. Arwen was the youngest child of Elrond and Celebrían; her elder brothers were the twins Elladan and Elrohir. Through her father, she was the granddaughter of Eärendil the Mariner (the second of the Half-elves), great-granddaughter of Tuor of Gondolin, and therefore a direct descendant of the ancient House of Hador. Arwen was also a descendant of High King Turgon of the Ñoldor through her great-grandmother, Idril. Through her mother, she was the granddaughter of the Lady Galadriel and the great-granddaughter of Finarfin. Éomer of Rohan said that the Lady Arwen was more fair than the Lady Galadriel of Lórien, but Gimli son of Glóin thought differently. Through both of her parents Arwen was a direct descendant of the ancient Elven House of Finwë. Furthermore, Arwen was a descendant of Beren and Lúthien Tinúviel, whose story resembled hers. Indeed, Arwen was held to be the reappearance in likeness of her ancestress Lúthien, fairest of all the Elves, who was called Nightingale (Tinúviel). As Moria is mostly underground, the Dwarves have taken to cultivating Mushrooms. Any Mycologist worth their salt can tell you that most Mushrooms don't need light to grow. In The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, however, light will actually prevent Mushrooms from growing. Conversely, most other Crops need light to grow. If you put a "dark" Crop (such as Mushrooms) in light or a "light" Crop in darkness, they won't grow at all. Before the Dwarves abandoned Moria, mithril was worth ten times its own volume in gold. However, after the abandonment the excavation of mithril ore stopped entirely, it became priceless, as the presence of the Balrog prevented the Orcs in Moria from mining for it. The only way to obtain a mithril object at the end of the Third Age was to either use heirloom mithril weapons and armour that were produced before the fall of Moria, or to melt down these existing objects to forge new ones. However, most of the mithril produced by the Dwarves before the fall of Moria was gathered by Orcs and paid as tribute to Sauron, who was said to covet it. Some believe that the majority of Galadriel's powers came from her ring: Nenya, the Ring of Water. In a letter to his friend Milton Waldman dating from 1951, however, Tolkien stated that Rings of Power could only enhance the "natural powers of the possessor" and not grant entirely new powers. [11]In addition to this, Galadriel's power to perceive the thoughts of others was apparent from her early youth, long before she obtained Nenya. In some tales, she was also depicted with the powers of communicating over vast distances, predicting the future, and even cloaking her mind from other powerful beings (she once stated that Sauron could not perceive her mind, though she could perceive his). This power was the most closely connected to her Ring, as The Silmarillion tells us the Elves were able to perceive the mind of Sauron when they put on their rings. It is also possible that her powers of divination were either derived from or accentuated by her mirror, which could reveal events of the past, present, and future.

Galadriel was highly praised for her unrivaled beauty, particularly that of her hair, which was a deep and radiant gold, shot with silver. It was said by the Elves of Tirion to have ensnared the light of the Two Trees of Valinor, Telperion and Laurelin, and possibly to have inspired the creation of the Silmarils by Fëanor. She was also the tallest of elf-women, standing at around 6 feet 4 inches, or 193 centimeters. Because of her wisdom and power, she had very important roles throughout the history of Middle-earth, especially during her time in Eregion and during the War of the Ring. She had a penchant for dressing in the purest white. Bilbo departs on one last adventure, leaving the One Ring with Frodo; Gandalf warns Frodo he must leave the Shire, as Sauron ( the Lord of the Rings) and his evil cronies — specifically the Nazgûl, a host of nine horse-mounted wraiths — will be coming for the ring. Frodo departs the Shire with his best friend, Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin), along with fellow hobbits Merry (Dominic Monaghan) and Pippen (Billy Boyd). Nonetheless, Míriel makes Galadriel to depart alone as planned, though just as she enters her boat, the leaves of Nimloth began to fall, indicating a grave warning. Seeing this, Míriel changes her mind and announces that Númenor will send an army to the Southlands after all. In the days following, Galadriel assists in giving training to the recruit volunteers. Becoming aware that Halbrand desires not to go to Middle-earth but to remain in Númenor, Galadriel attempts to persuade him to accept the mantle of king, only after much argument succeeding. She departs Armenelos on the tenth day since Míriel's decision aboard one of three ships bound for Middle-earth.

In the video game Kingdom Hearts, mithril is a rare material used for "synthesis" in high-level items. In the video game Tales of Symphonia "mythril" is used to customize many late game weapons, shields, and other items to equip to characters. and she grew to be tall beyond the measure even of the women of the Noldor; she was strong of body, mind, and will [...] Yet deeper still there dwelt in her the noble and generous spirit of the Vanyar, and a reverence for the Valar that she could not forget.

OFFICIAL MERCHANDISE: Perfect gift for all Lord of The Rings fans, superb quality, this Lord of The Rings Balrog Light is officially licensed and approved by Warner Bros. Entertainment UK Limited. What’s the best path for reading your way through, you ask? It’s a simple question, but one bound to rile up Tolkien fans, who love and study the author’s works with serious devotion. I know because I’m one of them. Yes, dear reader, you caught me—I’ve been a Tolkienite since age eight, when I got my hands on The Hobbit and it changed my little brain forever. I grew up in Tolkien’s wide, wild world in the way that other members of my generation grew up in Narnia or Hogwarts; these books are an enduring part of my heart and identity, and they can be for you, too. As a Silmaril, the Star of Eärendil contained the light of the Two Trees, and was brighter than any star in the night sky such that no other star nearby could be seen. Its first light was observed across Arda, and the people of Middle-earth were encouraged by the sight of the star, naming it Gil-Estel, the "Star of High Hope." It was recognized by Maedhros and Maglor as a Silmaril, and despite their oath to recover the gems, Maglor was gladdened that it was outside the circles of the world and thus beyond the reach of themselves and of evil forces. [2]Galadriel became friends with Melian the Maia, who wanted to know the cause of the Exile of the Ñoldor. Galadriel only briefly narrated the story to her, leaving out the death of Finwë, the Kinslaying at Alqualondë, and the burning of the ships at Losgar. She dwelt in Nargothrond with her brother Finrod, and asked him if he would take no wife. But Finrod had taken an oath only for himself, and his beloved had been left in Valinor. [7] It is said that the power of her Ring could not be overcome unless Sauron himself would come to do battle. After the fall of Sauron she, with Thranduil of Mirkwood and their Elven allies, crossed the Anduin to Dol Guldur, where they tore down its walls and "laid bare its pits". She then traveled to Minas Tirith for the wedding of King Elessar and Lady Arwen and returned to Lórien until TA 3021 when she journeyed to the Grey Havens and, with the remaining Ring-bearers, took a ship and returned at last to the Undying Lands whence she had come so long ago. [10] Character The History of Middle-earth, Vol. XII: The Peoples of Middle-earth, chapter XI: " The Shibboleth of Fëanor" Arwen was described to be the most beautiful of the last generation of High Elves in Middle-earth, and was even said to bear a remarkable resemblance to her ancestress, Lúthien. J.R.R. Tolkien described Arwen as following:
