About this deal

Mati, Pirate-Princess of Kalinga, has decided to mend her ways and become a good wife. But old habits die hard, especially when one habitually uses murder to settle old scores. For all you are the children of light, and children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.

Hero-turned-torturer Shakuni limps through a path of daggers. Meanwhile, his foes and woes multiply, leaving little time for vengeance. I'm going to use this space to tell you a little about SONS OF DARKNESS in case you're wondering whether you might enjoy reading it. But before you fasten your seat-belts, do give my bipolar invitation below a further read. I was asked to draft this Author’s Note because the world of Sons of Darkness is completely different from what you may know about the Mahabharata from religious texts and TV shows. You will encounter strange new characters that were not part of the original epic poem. Old, loved characters take Gourav: I am currently reading The Anarchy by William Dalrymple and Sixth Extinction by Elizabeth Kolbert, and in fiction, I am reading The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern and Fifth Season by N.K. Jemisin. I read multiple books simultaneously and consequently can die anytime under the TBR Tower.

The War Scroll

Sons of Darkness is a 'reimagining' of the Mahabharata. Why did you decide to base your debut on this epic? And how did you find the experience of basing your novel on something that already exists? Fantasy suffers from the same cultures explored, the same western histories interspersed into the stories over and over again, so we need books like the Sons of Darkness that build their stories from a different foundation. It was a refreshing read and also a crucial read for epic fantasy fans wanting to diversify their reading and shed light on new, upcoming authors from different areas of the world. When we call for variety on our shelves, books like this are important and should be consumed voraciously (especially when they are this good.)Duhaime, Jean (2007). After that bipolar invitation, if you are still prepared to dive head-first into a chasm of chivalry and cynicism, then all I ask you to do is- leave your helms behind. But they are soon to discover that neither gold nor alliances last forever – and that they are not the only players on the board. Fromm, Peter (May 2012). "Dating the Army of the War Scroll". Archived from the original on 30 August 2014. The unjust steward.--Literally, the steward of unrighteousness, St. Luke using the half-Hebrew idiom of a genitive of the characteristic attribute. (Comp. the "mammon of unrighteousness" in Luke 16:9, and the "unjust judge" of Luke 18:6, where the same idiom is used.) Children of light.--The expression is an enthusiastic Hebrew poetical turn for intimate vital connection with anything; thus, e.g., "children of this world" ( Luke 16:8; Luke 20:34) = "mere products of this age," with a family likeness for other worldly people; "the son of peace" ( Luke 10:6)=a person with whom peace has a natural affinity, to whom the "peace" pronounced will cleave naturally. So "children of the light" are persons to whom darkness is an alien thing, whose natures have a kinship, an intuitive responsiveness for whatever may be called "light." To such persons the "light," the "day," can never come as an unwelcome, startling apparition. Strong's 5429: Intelligent, prudent, sensible, wise. From phren; thoughtful, i.e. Sagacious or discreet; in a bad sense conceited.
